Can-Am GNCC Series to Run UTV/Side-by-Side Race at Series Finale in Indiana
Morgantown, WV (10/15/2007) - Racer Productions, producers of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series, will make history when the first-ever GNCC UTV race hits the woods at the Klotz Ironman GNCC in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The Side-by-Side machines will race on Saturday, October 27th at 5 p.m., after the conclusion of ATV racing.
The machines will compete on a course custom-built for the size and performance differences between a UTV and a traditional ATV. The GNCC track crew promises a few tough sections to truly test the UTV's cross-country prowess. Classes will be announced shortly.
The UTV race joins several other special events at the season-finale Klotz Ironman GNCC. The fight for both GNCC XC1 pro titles-for bikes and ATVs-is expected to go down to the last round. The bike series will add European veterans Samuli Aro and Mika Ahola into the mix, as well as Simo Kirssi, piloting the prototype BMW 450 SportsEnduro machine in its first U.S. race. Several brands will have 2008 displays and demo rides for bikes and ATVs, and racers and fans are invited to enter a Halloween costume contest as well.
